LADY WAR EAGLES DEFEAT NORTH FORSYTH 19-6
South Forsyth found itself down 6-0 after only one play but held the Raiders scoreless the remainder of the game (39 min, 50 sec). On offense, QB Cameron Brock went 12 for 20 for 115 yards and 2 TD passes. Importantly, Brock added an additional 71 yards on the ground, including 1 rushing TD and the only PAT of the contest. Reese Epstein caught the first TD pass and Quincy Hilton added a TD catch in the second half. Late in the first half the defense faced 3 plays inside their own 4 yard line. On 4th and goal from the 1 yard line, Selah Brindle shot across and pulled the QB’s flag just before she broke into the end zone. Sophia Vallianatos had a key interception early in the game, setting up the offense inside the 5 yard line. Mya Wende made a heads up play in the second half by intercepting a North Forsyth lateral. Meera Chauhan led the team with 4 tackles, including 1 tackle for a loss.
LADY WAR EAGLES LOSE A HEARTBREAKER TO DENMARK 13-12
In a classic hard fought battle between two of the best teams in the state, Denmark stopped our 2 point conversion attempt in the waning seconds of the game to hang on to a 13-12 victory. QB Cameron Brock was 15 for 29 for 163 yards and 2 TD passes. The biggest TD pass was in the final minute of the game when Brock hit Reese Epstein with a beautiful 50 yard strike that made the score 13-12. Quincy Hilton scored the first War Eagles touchdown on a 12 yard pass. Sophia Vallianatos had 6 catches for 65 yard including a 27 yarder and a 29 yarder. On defense, Hilton had the game’s only interception. Vallianatos led the team with 7 tackles while Brock had 3 pass break-ups.
